What is a Board?

A Board is a group of people who make decisions for an:

• organisation
• company.

They make decisions about:

• policies – plans for how things will be done
• money
• ways to connect with the community
• the people who work at the organisation or company.

Members of a Board will:

• go to meetings
• read information before meetings
• make important decisions
• hire a Chief Executive Officer – someone who manages the organisation or company
• make sure the organisation or company is run well.
