What is mentoring?

Mentoring is when someone guides you so you can:

  • learn something new
  • do it well on your own.

A mentor is someone who already knows a lot about what you want to learn.

They share what they know and give you advice.

A mentor can help you:

  • make your own decisions
  • build your skills
  • work out what your goals are
  • build your confidence
  • learn new ways of thinking about things
  • become a mentor yourself.
