How to help someone experiencing violence

If you see or know someone being violent, you can try to stop them.

Only do this if it’s safe.

You can try to:

  • talk to the violent person
  • talk to the person being attacked and give them information about support services
  • talk to a professional and ask for help, like a nurse or lawyer
  • call the police
  • ask someone else to help you too.
