What is a respectful relationship?

A respectful relationship is when you:

  • are accepted for who you are
  • are treated equally
  • have freedom to do things you want to do, like seeing friends
  • talk to each other openly
  • feel safe.
A couple standing together. The man has his arm around the woman. They both have their thumbs up

A relationship that is NOT respectful will make you feel:

  • bad about yourself
  • alone
  • scared
  • angry
  • trapped.
